Having a convenient arrangement always makes the job of storing wood easier for you, as the firewood needs to be kept dry and moisture free. Unless you live in a place where it snows or rains day and night, you can build a firewood storage outdoors, as the wood can dry off easily when subjected to direct sunlight for a few hours of the day.
Wood: Those made from hardboard (a material made up of highly compressed wooden fibers) are popular, and a relatively cheaper option. However, they retain moisture and are not a good choice for heavy equipment. Wood-based composites like particle boards or medium-density fiber boards are also commonly used. Composite fiber boards are a better option and long-lasting, but too much of weight can damage them.
If you have any woodworking skills, then you will find it easy enough to build a blanket chest of your own. You will be saving mightily on costs if you do this, but you will need to be careful about what you are doing. You can get several downloadable do-it-yourself guides right here on the Internet.
