Depending on the size of your bedroom and your personal needs, a bedside table also doubles up as a piece of storage furniture, especially if it has drawers or shelves underneath. Also sometimes referred to as nightstand, it is the best place to keep your bedtime reading books, a bedside lamp, photo frames, and the alarm clock.
If you don't have a large collection, a coffee table with a shelf can be converted into a record storage unit. Just remember to stack the albums side by side (vertically), and not on top of one another (horizontally).
Purchase a few wicker baskets from a local store, and grab a handful of nails and a hammer for the project. Pick a spot to hang the baskets in place, and load them up with CDs and DVDs. You can even label the baskets with paper tags depending on what the baskets contain. Group the items together by category-wise or alphabetically so that it's easy for you to find the items later on.
Lastly, as mentioned above, remember the golden rule. You should research a lot in the market to get things/furniture that you actually need and that will serve dual purpose. This will definitely help save a lot of space and help in storing a great deal of stuff. Good luck!
