The traditional base that is usually required for the buildings does not apply here. One can prepare the base after building the actual shed. This makes it easier to build. There are two popular roofing types that need to be taken into account, and they are the gambrel roof (both sides containing an additional flat section) and the gable roof (roof with two flat sections set at angles, towards each other).
Frankly speaking, putting the records up on display is perhaps the only way we love to 'store' them. Of course, it'll be difficult to keep them all on a wall-mounted showcase. In such cases, keep only a handful of records on the showcase and store the others in labeled boxes.
You can then start building, by first adding a landscape fabric to prevent the shed from unwanted weed growth or varmints. It will also keep the base of the shed dry and free from decay. Create a foot area, then four corners for support, and secure them deep into the ground, and then the roof.
If you have any woodworking skills, then you will find it easy enough to build a blanket chest of your own. You will be saving mightily on costs if you do this, but you will need to be careful about what you are doing. You can get several downloadable do-it-yourself guides right here on the Internet.
